Activating/Disactivating
DIC Telecom Telephone Features
The
following are DIC Telecom’s current telephony features (when
you subscribe to one or all telephony features). Please
follow the steps to activate, test and deactivate as you
wish.
The feature enables a
user to request that incoming calls are inhibited, by
dialing the appropriate codes to
activate/deactivate/interrogate the feature. When the
feature is active, a stuttered dial tone will be heard at
the start only and the caller receives an announcement
indicating that the user is not accepting calls at that
time.

The
feature enables a user to inhibit the type of outgoing calls
that can be made, by dialing the appropriate codes to
activate/deactivate/interrogate the feature. This feature
is typically used to prevent certain types of calls being
made (National, GSM and International), and deactivation can
be protected with a password. When the feature is active, a
stuttered dial tone will be heard at the start only.

The feature provides an
announcement to identify the last caller, with the option to
request the return of the call by dialing a digit. This
feature enables you to see the last incoming call number
along with the date and time of the call. The telephone
number of the incoming call will be displayed on the LCD of
the telephone set.
For
example, when you dial:
1471
It will enable
you to see the last calling number along with the date/time
of the call.
1472
It will allow
you to dial the last calling number, without seeing the
number.
14713 It will
dial the last calling number after seeing the number.
The feature allows a user to request for the automatic
completion of calls to busy subscribers when the called
party becomes free, without having to wait on the line or
redial the calling party’s number
to a busy phone, after hearing the engaged tone.
How to
use this Feature:
If, when
trying to make a call, you hear an engaged tone, dial 5 and replace the handset.

The
user can arrange for all calls incoming to their number to
be transferred to another number by dialing the appropriate
codes to Activate/deactivate/interrogate the feature. When

diverted to another number when their telephone line is busy

The user can arrange for
the transfer of all calls incoming to their number that are
not answered within approximately 30 seconds by dialing the
appropriate codes to Activate/ deactivate/ interrogate the
feature. When the feature is active, a stuttered dial tone
will be heard at start only.

This
feature enables a user to have the caller’s number displayed
on their terminal, or associated equipment.
While engaged
on a call, an extension user with Call Waiting service is
given a tone to indicate that an incoming call is waiting.
Whilst receiving
the call waiting indication, the Centrex extension user has
the following options:
a)
Ignore the waiting
call.
b)
Reject the waiting
call and continue with the original call. Flash 0
c)
Accept the waiting call and release the
original call by clearing.
Flash 1
d)
Accept the waiting call and hold the
original call. Flash 2

This feature allows
a Centrex extension user to place an established call on hold, and establish a second call.
The Centrex
extension user can then speak to either party alternately,
with privacy, or establish a conference call with both
parties, or connect the other two parties (transfer).
